Sitter in 13 portraits
One of Britain's most popular singers and entertainers was born Priscilla Maria Veronica White in Liverpool. The first female artist to be signed by Brian Epstein. He also helped launch her television career after steering her to have nine top ten records from 1964 to 1966, including two Number One hits with Anyone Who Had a Heart and You're My World. In 1967 Black filmed her first and only lead role, in Peter Hall's satirical comedy Work Is A Four-letter Word.
