Annie Lennox

(1954-), Pop singer; singer for Eurythmics

Sitter in 7 portraits
Aberdeen-born Lennox found major pop fame with Dave Stewart as Eurythmics between 1981 and their split in 1989. In 1983, the duo had four top ten hits including Sweet Dreams and Who's That Girl. Accompanying videos explored issues of gender and cross-dressing creating a powerful new type of femine iconography. Lennox's solo career was launched by her 5 million plus sales and Brit-awarded album Diva (1992) which produced six further hit singles.
