Kirit Pathak

The son of a Gujarati-British entrepreneur Laximishanker Pathak who came to England from Kenya with his wife Shanta, their six children and £5 in his pocket and went on to found the Patak's food business in 1957. Kirit was involved from the start, he was an errand boy at the age of six and quit school aged 17 to join the family business. He saw the business grow from the samosa's his parents made in their small kitchen to bottling pickles in a small factory. Together with his wife Meena he has worked hard to expand the range of products and make Patak's a household name. The business operates from Leigh, Lancashire and was sold to Associated British Foods in 2007 for a reported £200 million.
