(1901-1979), Politician and philanthropist; third wife of Sir Saiyid Ali ImamSitter in 8 portraits
Anees Fatimah was a cousin of Sir Saiyid Ali Imam, following the death of his second wife, Mariam, the two cousins married. The couple lived a fulfilled life, Sir Saiyid Ali Imam was devoted to her, building a huge residence for them in Ranchi, Bihar. The residence, unusually styled as a Scottish castle and known locally as 'Anees Castle', was built with no expense spared. A mausoleum was also built as a final resting place for the couple. The castle was completed in 1932. Following her husband's death in the same year, Anees Fatimah concentrated on her political career. When she passed away in Patna, her funeral took place there, thus destroying her late husband's dream of them resting together for eternity.
