David Hemmings

Born in Guildford, Hemmings' film career began in the 1950s but took off internationally after his appearance as the David Bailey character in Blow-Up (1966). For the part, originally offered to Terence Stamp, Hemmings drew inspiration from a number of sources including the photographer David Hamilton. Hemmings' other films of the 1960s included The System (1964) Barbarella (1967) and The Charge of the Light Brigade (1968).
