John Stephen worked for Moss Bros. then at Vince of Newburgh Street in London. In 1957, he opened his own shop called His Clothes. By 1962, he had four shops in Carnaby Street . The colourful clothes, cheap prices and fast turn-over of styles instigated a turning point in menswear fashion and retailing.
