Stella McCartney

Fashion designer, daughter of Linda and Paul McCartney. Worked with Christian Lacroix and Betty Jackson before studying fashion at St Martin's School of Art. Her final year collection (1995) modelled by friends Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell was bought by stores such as Browns and Joseph. In 1997 succeeded Karl Lagerfeld as head designer at Chloé. In 2001 launched her own fashion house in partnership with the Gucci group. Her humorous feminine designs are worn by celebrities such as Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow. Stella opened her London store in May 2003 and launched her eponymous perfume in September 2003.
