Lloyd de Vere Hunt

10 June 2020, 01:28

He was the son of Robert Kiernan and Elinor Taylor of Dublin. In 1783, Watson's Almanack indicates that his father Robert had an apothecary shop on 8 S. Anne Street. Robert's sister, Elizabeth married Dr. Henry Hunt in 1742 (contra Burke's Landed Gentry for de Vere Hunts that says he married Grace Forsyth) who in 1784 became the first State Apothecary (1784) and Governor of Apothecaries' Hall (1791). George, Henry's son James, George's son George Shirley and Henry's grandson Thomas continued the family apothecary world and its leadership.

There is much more to follow about George's own life that will follow.... along with citations
