Synthetic Chemist. Appointed Daniell Professor of Chemistry at King's College (1999-2003). In 2003 moved to Imperial College as a Professor in Chemistry. Winner of the first Royal Society Rosalind Franklin Award (2003), which aims to promote women in science. Her work focuses on the application of organometallic reagents and more efficient and environmentally sound chemical reactions, and their application in medicine. 'Achieving a sustainable balance between the world's demands for chemicals...and the environment we live in, is one of chemistry's biggest challenges.'
