Dorothy Frances Shale was born 17/01/1890 London and the only child of Edward C Shale a vocalist/musician/theatre manager 1861 - 1940 and his wife Catherine A.E Brown 1868-1937. Dorothy was an actress and married Harry Arthur Forsyth, a dentist in Harley Street London in 1925.

They had one child David Forsyth 1928-1961 who contracted polio when aged 18 years and was paralysed from the waist down. He became very independent with his car and adapted home and worked his way up in AEI Rugby.

Dorothy and her son are both buried in St Marie Catholic Churchyard Rugby which is a beautiful setting. the monumental inscription reads:
In loving memory of Dorothy Frances Forsyth died 2nd October 1947 aged 57 years also her son David Forsyth died 27th December 1961 aged 33 years
