Future Systems has consistently challenged preconceptions of space, with its visually striking, practical, innovative designs. The practice combines real projects and research in a way that stretches the conceptual boundaries of design, and challenges the notion that environmental efficiency must compromise aesthetic values. Its Natwest Media Centre, at Lord's cricket ground, won the Stirling Prize for architecture, and the practice has designed several acclaimed retail projects, including Comme des Garçons and New Look.
