Dmitri Kasterine

Dmitri began his professional career as a photographer in 1961, working for publications such as Jocelyn Steven's Queen. Kasterine enjoyed a long association with film director Stanley Kubrick, taking stills on Dr Strangelove (1964), 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and A Clockwork Orange (1971). In the 1970s and 1980s Kasterine was commissioned to take portraits for a variety of magazines including the Daily Telegraph Magazine. His portraits and reportage also featured in Harpers & Queen, Vogue, Interview, and the New York Times. Since 1986, Kasterine has lived in the United States. His personal photographic surveys include England and the English (1981), and book projects documenting the residents of Newburgh and Brooklyn, New York.
