Raquel Welch
(1940-2023), ActressSitter in 3 portraits
Born in Chicago and brought up in California where she took ballet lessons. Studied acting at San Diego State College. Made her film debut in 1964 appearing in three films including an uncredited part in Elvis Presley's Roustabout. Came to worldwide fame as a cavewoman in British-made film One Million Years BC (1966). Other films of the 1960s included Peter Cook and Dudley Moore's Bedazzled (1967), Lady in Cement (1968) with Frank Sinatra and as 'Priestess of the Whip' in The Magic Christian with Peter Sellers and Ringo Starr (1969).
