Platon Antoniou

(1968-), Photographer

Artist of 1 portrait
British-born photographer, Platon, has lived in New York since 1998. In 1992, aged 23 and still studying at the Royal Academy of Art, he was noted by Vogue's talent contest as the best 'up and coming photographer'. In the early 1990s he worked at The Face, Arena and Vogue, but in 1995 was recruited by the late John Kennedy Junior to photograph leading American subjects for the political magazine George. A hundred of his most notable subjects were published in his first book, Platon's Republic (2004), which includes his most noted portrait, of President Bill Clinton in 2000, the last official Presidential portrait.
