Sir Harold Josiah Finch 1898-1979. The Member of Parliament for Bedwellty from 1950 to 1970. He was the first under-secretary of state for Wales and the first freeman of Islwyn Borough Council. He was the secretary of the National Union of Mine Workers South Wales area for many years.
