Described as the 'rock and roll photographer' by fellow photographer Annie Leibovitz, Jim Marshall has worked for most of his career in the music business, producing magazine and editorial features, publicity, documentary photography and album and CD covers. After serving in the US Air Force, Marshall started taking pictures in the 1960s in San Francisco. He has photographed virtually every artist in the rock pantheon. A selection of his photographs was published in Not Fade Away (1997). His work has been published worldwide and is included in the permanent collection of several museums.
