Ronald Balfour ('Ronnie') Corbett

Sitter in 4 portraits
Corbett achieved prominence during the 1960s on the satirical television programme The Frost Report where he met fellow comedian Ronnie Barker. Their resulting successful television series The Two Ronnies ran from 1971 to 1987. Corbett also starred in the sitcoms Sorry! (1981-8) and No - That's Me Over Here! (1967-70). He was awarded an OBE in 1978. And it's Goodnight from Him: the autobiography of the two Ronnies was published in 2006.

There are occasions when we are unsure of the identity of a sitter or artist, their life dates, occupation or have not recorded their family relationships. Sometimes we have not recorded the date of a portrait. Do you have specialist knowledge or a particular interest about any aspect of the portrait or sitter or artist that you can share with us? We would welcome any information that adds to and enhances our information and understanding about a particular portrait, sitter or artist.
