Des'ree is an R&B singer and songwriter. Born in Barbados, Des'ree's parents moved to London when she was 3 years old. She was raised in London where she began discovering musical genres like jazz, calypso and reggae that would go on to inspire her own musical career. In 1992 her single "Feel So High" reached number 13 in the UK charts. In 1994 "You Gotta Be" reached number 5 in the UK charts and became the most played music video on the VH1 music channel. She has received a Brit Award, an Ivor Novello Award, World Music Award, Urban Music Award and a BMI Award. She has collaborated with many artistes including Steve Winwood, Terence Trent D'Arby and Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
