Dave Angel

(1966-), Disc Jockey

Sitter in 1 portrait
Born in Chelsea, London, Angel is the son of a London-based jazz musician, and the elder brother of rapper Monie Love. His big break came when he reworked 'Sweet Dreams' by the Eurythmics. Annie Lennox first opposed the borrowing of their track without permission but her partner Dave Stewart, impressed by the mix, gave Angel the go ahead. The track became so successful on the club scene, that RCA were forced to officially release the track. It debuted at number 23 in the UK Singles chart. This opened the doors to many creative possibilities including working as a producer. Recognised and well respected, Angel has become part of the fabric of techno on the UK and International stage.
