Sir Harry Vanderpant was a benefactor of Christ's Hospital School. He took a particular interest in the girl's school which was then still in Hertford and paid for many improvements in the buildings including a new School Hall. He had a good friendship with the Headmistress Miss Dorothy Ruth West, who mentions him in her autobiography " Half To Remember "
He died in a London Hospital where he was nursed by an old girl of the school.
