(1966-), Prime Minister

David William Donald Cameron

Sitter in 4 portraits
David Cameron was declared leader of Britain's Conservative Party after winning the 2005 leadership elections. Elected Prime Minister in 2010, he formed the first coalition government since the Second World War with Liberal Democrat Leader, Nick Clegg. Fulfilling his election manifesto, Cameron introduced a referendum on UK membership of the European Union in 2016. After a polarising campaign, in which Cameron campaigned to remain, British voters narrowly chose to leave the Union. Hours after the result was declared, Cameron announced his resignation.
