Painter, ceramicist and society hostess. During her youth Natalie Bevan was a muse to many leading British artists, notably Mark Gertler. In 1946 she married Bobby Bevan (son of the painters Robert Bevan and Stanislawa de Karlowska). Their home at Boxted House on the Essex-Sussex border became a showcase for their celebrated art collection including works by the Bevans and other Camden Town Group artists. During the 1950s and 1960s Boxted was an important gathering place for writers, politicians and artists including John Nash and Maggi Hambling.
