Sir Reginald Theodore Blomfield
(1856-1942), ArchitectSitter in 14 portraits
Architect; commanded an extensive practice which consisted mainly of country houses but also public works and commercial buildings including the Regent Street Quadrant and Swan & Edgar's department store in Piccadilly Circus. Blomfield was also a prolific writer on the history of architecture and gardening and a keen controversialist: his advocacy of the formal garden led him into conflict with William Robinson.
