Artist and illustrator; followed his father, Isaac Cruikshank, as a caricaturist and worked with William Hone in producing radical satires against the Prince Regent; became a prolific illustrator, most famously of Dickens. In later life he took up oil painting, renounced his earlier ways and became a zealous advocate of temperance.
