Faussett entered Christ Church, Oxford, where his father had been a Canon-Professor in 1845, took a First in Mathematics and was a Mathematics Lecturer from 1850 to 1855; later, he was Treasurer. From 1875, he was Vicar of Cassington, six miles from Oxford.
