Sitter in 1 portrait
Trained as an engraver, Hunt illustrated the anthology of eighteenth-century stories Classic Tales, Serious and Lively, edited by his brother, the literary critic, Leigh Hunt. Robert Hunt also worked as the art critic on the Examiner, the political weekly paper founded by his brothers Leigh and John in 1808. Hunt did not share Linnell's admiration for William Blake, writing a scornful review of Blake's work for the Examiner.
