Charles Waldegrave Sandford

Sandford was a Student (Fellow) of Christ Church, Oxford, from 1848 to 1872, and Censor from 1860 to 1870. As Senior Censor, he presided over the meetings of the Students that brought about the end of the old Christ Church constitution, dominated by the Canons. Sandford was Examining Chaplain and Commissary to the Archbishop of Canterbury (1868-73) and became Bishop of Gibraltar in 1874.
