Philip Snowden, Viscount Snowden
(1864-1937), Statesman; Chancellor of the ExchequerSitter in 35 portraits
Labour Chancellor of the Exchequer (1924 and 1929). Snowden remained in office in the National Government (1931) at a time of world economic depression. He was a pacifist and champion of conscientious objectors during the First World War.
