Charles Francis Annesley Voysey(1857-1941), Architect and designer
Sitter in 9 portraits
Architect and designer; a leading figure in the Arts and Crafts movement; a pupil of J.P. Seddon 1874-9, he began to practice by himself in the early 1880's. By 1890 he had developed his own characteristically simple style of domestic architecture, as well as being known for his designs for stained glass, furniture, wallpaper and fabrics. The furnishings of the house he designed for himself, 'The Orchard', Chorleywood, were entirely of his own design.
