Lawyer, businessman and arts administrator. Goodman was Chairman of the Arts Council from 1965-72, where he oversaw the establishment of the South Bank Centre. Also Director of the Royal Opera House, Sadler's Wells, and Master of University College, Oxford for a decade from 1976. Goodman acted as lawyer to Prime Minister Harold Wilson.
