Further information: Charles May Lushington , the 4th son of James Stephen and Mary Christian, born1784 died 1844.
He was Member of Council Madras in 1840
But was he the man in the photo?
I know no other Lushington who it could have been

Charles was born 1785 and went India ended his career as Chief Sec of Bengal Govt.
He returned to England in 1827. He was MP for Ashburton and then for Westminster until 1852
A director of Crystal Palace and London to Brighton Railway
He died at Brighton in 1866
So was he the Charles Lushington in the photograph?
