Daniel Day-Lewis(1957-), Actor
Sir Daniel Day-Lewis
Sitter in 5 portraits
Day-Lewis made his debut in My Beautiful Laundrette (1985), but Room with a View (1986) brought him international acclaim. He is known for his physicality and 'method' approach toward his performances. Highly selective in his choice of roles, subsequent films include My Left Foot (1989) for which he won an Oscar, and Last of the Mohicans (1992). In 2008 he won an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for There Will Be Blood.
