The elder son of The Prince of Wales and the late Diana, Princess of Wales. On leaving school, Prince William spent a gap year in Chile, Belize and Africa before studying at St Andrews University in Fife, Scotland. After a period of work experience, Prince William joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst as an Officer Cadet. He was commissioned as an army officer in December 2006 and joined the Household Cavalry (Blues and Royals) as a Second Lieutenant. Prince William is now a Search and Rescue Pilot with the Royal Air Force, where he holds the rank of Flight Lieutenant, while continuing his charitable work. He married Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey on 29 April 2011.
