William Samuel Woodin was born 24 Apr 1825 in Change Alley, Soho, London to parents Samuel, an Artist and Importer of pictures and Allison Ann nee Davis. He married Frances Susannah Sprague 'the amiable and eldest daughter of Daniel Sprague, Tailor of Bond Street', on 23 Jul 1853 at St James, Piccadilly, and they had 4 children.
Known as a Myriographist he was a popular public entertainer.
North London News - Saturday 31 May 1862 ' A gentleman whose genius whose genius is an accepted fact'. Known for his act 'Carpet Bag', the glorious budget of wit and humour. He also performed 'Olio of Oddities' and Cabinet of Curiosities' 'It is one of the most elegant, interesting and exceptionable entertainers that we have ever listened to'.
He died at home at The Monor House, Bromley, Kent on 1 Jan 1888
