Freddie Trueman

(1931-2006), Cricketer, writer and broadcaster

Frederick Sewards Trueman

Sitter in 1 portrait
Fast bowlers always traditionally hunt in pairs and with Brian Statham, Trueman formed one of England's finest opening attacks. In his debut test series, against India in 1952, Trueman took 29 wickets, and only an occasional brush with authority prevented him from taking more than 307 wickets in a test career that continued until 1964.
