Marion Dorn
(1896-1964), Textile designerSitter in 1 portrait
American-born textile designer. Dorn came to England in 1923 and established a reputation at the forefront of interior design during the late 1920s and 1930s. Known in particular for her 'sculpted' carpets, she contributed to some of the best-known interiors of the time including the Savoy, Claridges, the Orion and the Queen Mary. She was married to the graphic designer Edward McKnight Kauffer.
