Painter of portraits, landscapes, marine subjects and figures. De Glehn studied at the Royal College of Art and Ecole des Beaux-Arts and subsequently assisted Sargent, with whom he travelled widely. Early in his career he exhibited at the Paris Salon, the Royal Academy and the New English Art Club. His first one-man exhibition was held at the Carfax Gallery in 1908. His work was influenced by Sargent and by Impressionism in its lively brushwork and use of vibrant colour, and is represented in various collections including Tate.
