Hubert Andrew Freeth was a portrait painter and etcher. He studied at the Birmingham College of Art and the British School in Rome. He exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy and the Royal Watercolour Society from 1936.

I looked after Andrew and met his wife Roseen when I was a young doctor at Westminster Hospital London. He had a portrait of Robert Graves which he called the "Irishman" in reference to how he understood Robert thought of himself at school being embarassed to be a Von Ranke at the beginning of the First WW. Andrew's wife's mother Mary Molly Graves was a favorite step sister of Robert Graves.
