Helen Wilson began as a medical artist studying the human body and making detailed anatomical drawings.
She taught at the Heatherley School of Fine Art and was Vice President of the Pastel Society.
Her studio was in Fellows Road in Swiss Cottage. Although noted for her pastel portraiture, she produced some remarkable
still life paintings and landscapes. She was instrumental in getting the Heatherley School of Art its charitable status in 1971.
