Artist of 3 portraits
Yorkshire-based artist, known for his imaginative and allusive abstract and figurative work; his one-man show at Dean Clough Contemporary Art, Halifax in 1987 gave rise to a number of portraits of King Charles III (the then Prince of Wales), shown two years later; he won second prize in the National Portrait Gallery's John Player Portrait Award in 1985, and has undertaken numerous commissions, including a poster for London Transport.
