Cornell Capa, born Kornel Friedmann in Budapest, brother of war photographer Robert Capa, emigrated to the United States in 1937, and spent most of his career as a photojournalist working for Life magazine. His subject is people, and he tackles them with such directness and vitality that they almost burst from the picture space. in 1974 he co-founded the International Center of Photography in New York.
