I met Laurie when I worked at Downtown Darkroom in Mount Pleasant. I was a photo retoucher there in the 80s 85/86 and Mike Spry B/W printer printed many celebrated photographers prints -70s/80s inc Don McCullen Bailey etc. I remember Laurie as a very cheery chap had a girlfriend named Midge. He had a studio somewhere towards Broadway Market way- above the shops. He did a photo shoot for Tears For Fears and used my band (unknown hopefuls) to try out the lighting- I was 17 - I also sat for him for a pic in the style of Man Ray.
