Artist of 40 portraits
Painter; studied in Cornwall with Stanhope Forbes (1907-10) and in Paris (1910) before marrying fellow artist, Dod Shaw in 1912. During the First World War he served with the British Red Cross Society as an orderly in Dunkirk, documenting his experiences in works of art. After the War he and his wife were commissioned to decorate the Kokine Palace in Burma (1919-20).
