Yeoman studied under Peter Greenham at the Royal Academy School, where he was awarded scholarships that allowed him to further study in Spain. Returning to England, he has been commissioned by the National Trust and most notably by the Royal Family ever since Yeoman first accompanied Prince Charles on a tour of the Gulf States in 1986 to teach the prince to paint. He went on to join the Prince on tours to Hong Kong, India and Nepal. In 1992 he was commissioned to draw the Queen's grandchildren for the 40th anniversary of her reign. Awarded the Ondaatje Prize for portraiture in 2002, he now teaches at the Royal Drawing School and is a member of the New English Art Club.
