Barry Ryan first came to the public's attention in the 1960s when he was part of a successful pop duo with his twin brother Paul. From the late 1970s he had a successful career as a fashion photographer and was published in magazines including Ritz, Deluxe and Zoom. In the 1990s he worked on a project compiling eighty portraits as a memorial to his brother who died in 1992.
