Julian Tudor Hart(1927-2018), Physician and epidemiologist
Sitter in 1 portrait
The son of middle class doctor parents, Julian Tudor Hart settled in Glyncorrwg, a mining village in south Wales, where he could practice his strong left-wing principles. Concentrating on studying how his patients' lifestyles (diet, smoking, and exercise) caused their illnesses he then worked with them to make their lives healthier, thereby achieving far more than any politician would have done (he tried three times to become a Communist MP).
