Sir Raymond Hoffenberg

(1923-2007), Professor of medicine

Sitter in 1 portrait
Bill Hoffenberg's principal characteristic is bravery. As a young man he fought his way up Italy with Alexander's army. Back in South Africa he sided with the African Congress and was imprisoned and eventually expelled for his political beliefs. As president of the Royal College of Physicians he campaigned successfully for doctors to audit their own activities.
