Nicholas Sinclair was born in London in 1954 and started working as a portrait photographer in 1982. His work has been widely exhibited and published in Britain and Europe and six books of his work have been published. In 1987 he began photographing leading British artists, including Anthony Caro, Frank Auerbach, John Piper and Paula Rego and the series has continued for nearly thirty years. His work has been exhibited eight times at the National Portrait Gallery and in 2003 he was made a Hasselblad Master.
