Nancy Culliford Spender (née Sharp)

Nancy Sharp studied at the Slade (1928-31) and exhibited with the London Group. She was Louis MacNeice's love, travelling with him to the Outer Hebrides and illustrating his book, I Crossed the Minch (1938). Sharp married first the painter William Coldstream and then Michael Spender, older brother of the poet Stephen and the painter-photographer Humphrey.
