Michael Boris Green

Physicist. Green studied physics at the University of Cambridge and postdoctoral research followed at Princeton, Cambridge, and the University of London. Between 1979 and 1984 Green collaborated with John Schwarz, developing superstring theory. Since 1993 he has been John Humphrey Plummer Professor of Theoretical Physics at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at Cambridge University. Awards given in recognition of Green's pioneering work include the Dannie Heineman Prize for Mathematical Physics (2002).
